Geoff
I have been working as a massage therapist since 2015 and have a particular interest in providing effective evidence-based services to assist people who experience chronic pain, restricted mobility and who seek to use massage to support their mental health and well-being.
I don’t see massage as the panacea for all ailments which we face, but I recognise that massage has been very helpful as a tool to manage my own pain and mental well-being. It is with that approach that I hope to offer others similar relief. |
I’m interested in finding out what outcomes you are seeking from a treatment. From there we can discuss a range of treatment options using modalities including trigger point, deep tissue, stretching, myofascial, mindfulness and relaxation techniques.
I am particularly interested in working with people who want to develop skills and knowledge which will enable them to manage and improve their own well-being. I maintain professional membership of Massage & Myotherapy Australia and work collaboratively with many local personal trainers, and other manual therapy providers such as osteopaths & physiotherapists.
Remedial Effects is a trauma aware practice. It is essential to me that I provide a safe environment characterised by clear expectations and consent during all treatments.
Prior to Remedial Effects I have worked extensively as a practitioner and leader in the health, education and welfare non-profit sectors. I have my own lived experiences of chronic pain and managing mental well-being, and hope to use my own insights to help others achieve their well-being goals.
